A d\u00eda de hoy, las vacunas que m\u00e1s se\u00a0utilizan en el campo son las MLV.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Desafortunadamente, las vacunas existentes tienen una eficacia limitada, ya que no\u00a0otorgan protecci\u00f3n completa y\/o universal.<\/p>\n<p>En general, las vacunas comerciales ofrecen\u00a0una buena protecci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica y virol\u00f3gica frente a un desaf\u00edo gen\u00e9ticamente hom\u00f3logo.\u00a0Sin embargo, <strong>su eficacia frente a cepas heter\u00f3logas es muy variable<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]La industria farmac\u00e9utica y los centros de investigaci\u00f3n dedican grandes esfuerzos en\u00a0desarrollar vacunas contra el virus.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, las vacunas experimentales (vectores\u00a0recombinantes que expresan prote\u00ednas del virus, vacunas ADN o vacunas basadas en\u00a0subunidades, por nombrar tan s\u00f3lo algunos ejemplos), no son capaces de superar ni las\u00a0estrategias que usa el virus para escapar de la inmunidad ni el inconveniente que supone\u00a0su elevada diversidad gen\u00e9tica.
